Great Wall Day Tour from Beijing, to the wild and remote Jinshaling section of the Great Wall of China with a walk to Simitai, a rugged and mountainous journey through dramatic scenery.

Description:

Exhilarating walk along the Great Wall of China, from Beijing

Pick up at your Beijing hotel and drive around 100 miles out of the city into the isolated north of the country, to where the Great Wall of China has stood guard over the empire for hundreds of years. We take you to Jinshanling where one of the most picturesque sections of the wall stretches across the mountains, and you have the opportunity to walk along it to Simitai, a trek of around 7.5 miles past watchtowers and fortifications and through dramatically beautiful scenery. The hike takes 4-5 hours and is classed as intermediate level. There is a cable car at Jinshanling which takes you to the highest point of the wall (not included in the tour cost). You should be reasonably fit, and take layers of clothing including a waterproof outer layer, and sunscreen. Please note that you will follow a sometimes steep, uneven and rocky path, and should have suitable footwear.
