Meet your car and driver at your hotel or cruise ship in Rovinj and head off along the Istria wine road to visit 3 wineries in different but equally charming places, Umag, a lovely old port with cobbled streets and quaint houses, Momjan which is inland, has a medieval castle, and boasts one of the best views of the coast in Istria, and Lim Fjord, a dramatic river valley not far from Rovinj. The drive is very scenic with vineyards of course, villages, olive groves and old stone buildings and churches, and the whole area is famous for the quality and variety of its wines. In each winery you will taste their special wines accompanied by home-produced ham or cheese and bread, and of course, the vintner will explain about his grapes and the wines he produces.
